Mission
David H. Smith, Ph.D. is your newly elected representative of Region
6. He has taught in classrooms with students who are Deaf and Hard
of Hearing at various grade levels since 1989. Dave is past
president of California Educators of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
(CAL-ED), has been council member of CAID for the past three years
as a State Affiliate member, and a representative to the Council on
Education of the Deaf (CED) on behalf of CAID. Locally, he serves as
President of the Board of Directors for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Services of Fresno, Inc., a social services agency. Dave is an
Associate Professor and Graduate Faculty of Deaf Education in the
Department of Communicative Disorders and Deaf Studies at Fresno
